About these terms
These terms apply to tuition provided by Mr Edebiri trading as The Maths Room. By booking lessons you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.
Our service
We provide one-to-one maths tuition online for students from KS2 to GCSE. Lessons take place in a virtual classroom using video, a digital whiteboard and screen sharing. A free 15-minute assessment is available before any paid lessons begin, with no obligation.
Prices and payment
Essential lessons (1 hour) cost £40 and Intensive lessons (2 hours) cost £70. Prices may change, but we will tell you before any change applies to you. Payment is taken in advance, through our booking platform, before each lesson or block of lessons.
Cancelling and changing lessons
Please give at least 3 days’ notice before the lesson date to cancel or rearrange a lesson. If you cancel with less notice, or miss a lesson without notice, the payment for that lesson is not refunded. If we need to cancel, we will offer another time or a full refund for that lesson.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer who books online, you normally have 14 days to cancel a new booking. If you ask us to start lessons within that period, you agree to pay for lessons already given if you then cancel.
Parent and student responsibilities
- A parent or guardian is responsible for a student’s safety and supervision at home, and for providing a suitable device, internet connection and quiet space.
- For younger students, we ask that an adult is nearby and available during the lesson.
- Students should be ready to work and treat the tutor politely. We may end lessons if behaviour makes teaching impossible.
Recording
Lessons are not recorded unless we agree this with you first. Please do not record or share lesson content without our permission.
Progress and results
We aim to help every student improve, but results depend on many factors, including effort and practice. We cannot guarantee particular grades or outcomes.
Our responsibility
We will provide our service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the fees paid for the affected lessons.

Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
